Position Summary:


The Traveling Certified Dietary Manager oversees and manages the nutritional needs of our clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing nutritional programs and menus that promote healthy eating habits and meet the dietary requirements of patients in various Guardian Healthcare facilities.


Essential Functions:

  • Work with healthcare facility staff to assess the nutritional needs of patients and develop dietary plans that meet their specific requirements.
  • Develop and implement nutritional programs and menus that promote healthy eating habits and meet the dietary requirements of patients in various facilities.
  • Provide guidance and education to patients, caregivers, and healthcare staff on proper nutrition, diet, and meal planning.
  • Monitor patient intake and weight and adjust dietary plans as necessary to ensure adequate nutrition and prevent malnutrition.
  • Train and supervise dietary staff at various facilities to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and adherence to dietary plans.
  • Manage food and supply inventory, budget, and ordering to ensure adequate supply and cost-effectiveness.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records and reports on patient nutritional status, dietary plans, and menu changes.
  • Keep up to date with industry trends and advancements in nutrition and dietary management, and incorporate best practices into the nutritional programs and menus.
  • Provide advice and support to the clients.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to travel and work in various healthcare facilities required.
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations related to dietary management in healthcare facilities.

Supervisory Responsibilities:


This position has no direct reports but may act in a supervisory role while on assignment.


Work Environment:

Blended (remote and on-site). This position requires frequent travel.


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is in a kitchen/cafeteria environment that has controlled heat and cold. The noise level is moderate to quiet.

Physical Demands:

  • Position requires frequent bending, stooping, stretching, and lifting.
  • Lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds.

Education / Experience:


  • Current Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) credential required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a supervisory or managerial role in a healthcare setting required.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role in a healthcare setting required.
  • Experience with menu planning, recipe development, and dietary management software.
